Web AVM Server Minor Upgrade – Saturday 23rd of January

The Pinpoint AVM server will be upgraded on Saturday 23rd of January. The AVM service will be temporarily unavailable from 5pm for a maximum of 1 hour.

All Pinpoint WebAVM (http://avm.pinpointcomms.com.au/webavm/main.aspx) and Smart Locator Users will be affected by this shutdown.

Key Requirements for the upgrade

The latest version of the WebAVM server will require some WebAVM customers to upgrade their Silver Light software to version 3.0. This upgrade will occur automatically, simply follow the onscreen instructions to upgrade your Silver Light plug-in.

New Features:

1. Create Distribution lists with up to 15 email addresses.

Expand the number of email addresses in your Contacts distribution list. Up to 5 of these contacts can also have mobile numbers enabled for emergency alerts only.

PDA

2. Messaging and Job system now supports Windows Mobile and PDA devices.

Send messages and Jobs to Windows Mobile or PDA devices. The Pinpoint Mobile Work Platform can now be installed on Windows Mobile or XP devices. This enables WebAVM users to send and receive messages and jobs on industry standard hardware.

3. Real time odometer and engine hour meter readings on the main AVM screen.

The vehicle status window now has a new Tab called Details. This window provides the AVM user a quick snap shot of the real time vehicle Odo or Engine Hours.

4. Quickly find vehicles or addresses based on Filter Tools.

The Status and Alerts window now have filter fields that enable you to quickly zoom to a vehicle or address.

PDA

5. Improved Vehicle Alerts

Vehicle and Equipment Alerts has been changed to stop multiple emails for the same alert. This will keep messaging to a minimum and make it easier to identify real issues.

6. Administrator management of scheduled reports.

Administrators can now centrally manage scheduled reports.

Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

The following know issues have been fixed or improved upon:

  • Zone / place creation and assignment performance is improved.
  • Journey Report was not showing a very short journey (ignition on to ignition off with no event in between) which caused the totals to be out.
  • Reports – correct time zone from server will used now.
