Important Notice: Pinpoint WebAVM Service Upgrade
The Pinpoint WebAVM Software will be upgraded on Saturday the 7th August.
The key features of this upgrade include:
- Improved Administration for Users Access and Reports.
- New Management Reports.
- New Map Printing and Save Map to file.
- Advanced Vehicle Grouping and Reporting.
User Administration
Administrators on the Pinpoint AVM System can now define a User Role and save this
as a Template.
A User Role defines AVM feature access, management rights and reports.
Administrators can create new Roles via the Manager / Users Menu.
User management rights can be further defined by Department. If you use departments
an AVM user must have a department assigned to the User Details. Drivers, Vehicles
and Groups of Vehicles may also be assigned a Department. Use of Department effectively
partitions the management of vehicles to users who belong to the same department.
When setting up a new user select Manage / Users / Details from the main menu.
Click on New and type in:
User Name; Password; Role and Department (optional)
If Departments are used, a user can also be set up to manage other departments.
Select the other Departments the user can see from the multi-select box 'Departments
user can see'
Vehicle Permissions; that is, the Vehicles a user can view on the map can
be assigned by clicking on the Manage Permissions button on the User Details
screen or from the Manage / Vehicles / Permissions.
New Management Reports
These reports enable you to better manage the performance of your AVM system and
ensure all units are reporting accurately. These reports include:
|
Report name
|
Description
|
|
User Activity
|
List of AVM user names and frequency of login over the report period.
|
|
Tracker Activity
|
Lists all Tracker units installed, Name, Serial Number and Group. Data usage by
each tracker.
|
|
Vehicles not heard from (>72hours)
|
Exception report of all trackers not reporting.
|
|
GPS fault report (>72 hours)
|
Exception report of all GPS errors. A high error number (e.g.: > 100) should be
reported to Pinpoint Customer Service Operations.
|
We recommend that the AVM system administrator sets a report schedule for the Vehicles
not heard from and GPS fault report on a regular basis. Units reporting
errors should be investigated.
New Map Printing and Save Map to file
A new map tool has been added to the tool bar. On the WebAVM Client this
enables you to save the Map currently on view to a file. This file can then be printed
or emailed.
Smart Locator Client has the added feature of printing the map direct from
the application and copy to clip board.
Improved Server Performance.
The AVM server is undergoing constant improvements and upgrades to ensure our customers
experience is the same or better as the WebAVM system grows in use and functions.
Improvements have been made in the processing of data and map display.
Tips and notes on application performance:
- When first logging in the WebAVM or Smart Locator client may take longer to load.
Usually this occurs on the 1st login after a server upgrade. Subsequent logins will
be faster.
- Reports take a long time to load. The reports engine will take some time to load
for the first time. Once it is loaded it will load instantly on the second and subsequent
use.
Advanced Vehicle Grouping and Reporting
The Pinpoint AVM System now supports advanced Vehicle Grouping and reporting. These
features can be of benefit to organisations that utilise fixed routes or runs
as part of their operational delivery.
If you organisation has Fixed routes or Runs please contact your Pinpoint Account
Manager to organise a demonstration of this advanced feature.
