The underlying reliability of any mobile data solution is based on the guarantee that the data transmitted between the mobile operator and your dispatch operators is delivered and acknowledged. Pinpoint provide this guarantee through our deep understanding of radio based communications (GPRS, Tetra and EDACS) and our Point to Point Protocols that ensure the data gets through and is fully acknowledged.

This technology operates on a store and forward principal for both ends of the communications channel (Mobile terminal and Dispatch application). This ensures that both dispatch and mobile operator are kept appraised of the status of the job or message.

For example. Once a message (job) is sent by the Dispatch operator they will receive a number of standard ‘state’ messages for that transmission; Pending; Sent; Read. Likewise the Mobile operator can clearly see the ‘state’ for messages sent or received for the PDA (For received messages; New, or for sent messages; Pending; Sent; Read)

We can customize these state messages to suit multiple dispatch scenarios. For example; Accepted, Pick-up complete, # of units picked up; POD etc.

This Portal Server enables the transfer of data to and from your Dispatch Application via a secure bi-directional connection (usually via the internet). The portal communicates then links to your application data via an ActiveX control that maps the data formats to you dispatch or legacy booking application.
